This amazing public art installation was part of the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Vancouver, BC. Created by Mexican-Canadian artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer this project allowed people from around the world to go online and design a light-work that was then projected into the Vancouver night sky by 20 powerful robotic spotlights.
Four web-cams would then record images and post them to the website so the designer and everyone else could see the original design and the live result. Pretty cool.
Read about the project and see many of the design/results on the Vectorial Vancouver site.
